Senator Ransom Stoddard returns to Shinbone with his wife to attend the funeral of his old friend, Tom Doniphon. He tells her how, as a young lawyer, he had left the East for the Far West and had confronted Liberty Valance, one of the West’s greatest terrors…
This must-see Western is probably one of John Ford’s best films. It’s also a fabulous testimony to the American West.
The screening will be preceded by a presentation by art and film historian Dominique Païni.
