Podcast: Les formes de l’art

The Nouveau Musée National de Monaco brings together artists, curators, gallery owners and collectors to talk about cultural life on the Riviera. The guests share their point of view on creation, open the doors of their studios and debate the issues that occupy them. Together, they explore art in all its forms.

Guillaume de Sardes welcomes Didier Semin, art historian and former curator at the Musée d’art moderne de la ville de Paris and the Centre Pompidou, to shed light on the poetic and hermetic work of Pier Paolo Calzolari, a major artist of the Arte Povera movement.

Episode 6 : Ecoletopie. L’Art d’apprendre

Benjamin Laugier, head of publics at the NMNM, and Stéphanie Marin, designer and founder of smarin studio, discuss the “Ecoletopie” project. An educational experiment conducted between September 2023 and February 2024 in a classroom at the Ecole Saint-Charles.

Guillaume de Sardes welcomes Matthieu Orléan, curator at the Cinémathèque française, to talk about those peculiar humanoids who haunt cinemas and our imaginations even more than museum walls: vampires.

Episode 3 : Mauro Restiffe : interview about the villa Santo Sospir and Cocteau

Célia Bernasconi, chief curator at the NMNM, talks to Brazilian photographer Mauro Restiffe. Based on the Santo Sospir series shot by Restiffe in 2018 in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, the artist and curator discuss the genesis and process of the “Santo Sospir, Mauro Restiffe – Jean Cocteau” exhibition, and address the notion of the exhibition as an art form.

Episode 2: Back to painting and scenography

Guillaume de Sardes interviews Thierry Leviez, Director of Pavillon Bosio, Ecole Supérieur d’Arts Plastiques de la Ville de Monaco. Using the example of American painter George Condo, they examine the current movement back to figurative painting and discuss the question of exhibition scenography.
