Public presentation – “Semis d’art”

From January to May 2026, Elisa Bollazzi worked with 6th-grade students in the Arts track at François d’Assise – Nicolas Barré and Charles III middle schools. During her residency, she led initiatives to raise awareness of contemporary art and provided art education using works from the MicroCollection. Founded in 1990 by the artist, the MicroCollection is an artist-run museum consisting of a collection of fragments of installations, sculptures, and sometimes even paintings by contemporary artists. It now comprises more than 2,500 microscopic items (fibers, shards, and even accidental fragments). Some of these fragments, mounted on microscope slides, are available for visitors to examine closely in her “viewing room.”

Other fragments of works, meanwhile, are the subject of a “sowing” that the artist has proposed to plant, like so many seeds, in the gardens of Villa Paloma. They are accompanied by a label and a personalized explanation provided by the students during the public presentation on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
