The Nouveau Musée National de Monaco presents an exhibition of new acquisitions enabled by the support of UBS (Monaco) S.A. at Villa Paloma from February 9 until May 20, 2018 with 11 works presented out of 20 acquisitions. Artists featured include Matti Braun, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Francesco Gennari, Apostolos Georgiou, Jef Geys, João Maria Gusmão + Pedro Paiva, Roland Flexner, Jean-Michel Sanejouand and Daniel Steegmann Mangrané.

In the 6 years that UBS (Monaco) S.A. has been supporting the NMNM’s exhibitions as main partner, it has also contributed to NMNM’s investment in the enrichment and perpetuation of Monaco’s national contemporary art collections. This presentation of the collection is amongst the highlights of NMNM’s 2018 programme.

UBS’s contribution, on top of the State budget allocated to NMNM, has allowed the museum enhance its collection of important works conceived by living artists that correspond to the guidelines on which the museum’s acquisitions policy is based.

Areas of exploration that the collections cover include: the arts, sciences and techniques, the latter involving in particular the histories of photography, cinema and automata; landscape as a mental and no longer natural construction, a territory that attempts to overcome the notions of boundaries and otherness; acting, production, scenery and stage performance.

This young collection, dedicated to the preservation and development of contemporary creation, strives to reflect on the status, richness and variability of art today, and encourages sharing and dialogue with and between its present and future publics.
